Sunday night. New York City. Be there.

Friday, November 16, 2007

I know a lot of people will already be in NYC on Sunday night. But those of you, even if it's just a few thousand, who want to hear some captivating prose read aloud, some of it read without our lips moving, come to KGB at 7pm this Sunday. I will be reading, as will the incredible Wesley Stace. Miss it and regret it the rest of your life. I'm just saying.

Mr. Sebastian in Italy

Monday, November 12, 2007

The first cover from a foreign market I've seen. Pretty much the same as the original (although the color is off here), but they changed the title. Now it's called Mr. Sebastian and the Devil's Shadow.

Hmm.

The Writer's Strike

Sunday, November 4, 2007

As many of you may know, there's a writer's strike. Members of the Writer's Guild, of which I am one, are no longer allowed to work on scripts for features, teleplays -- anything -- until all of the issues are resolved, especially those dealing with revenues from DVD sales.

Which leaves me in quandary. As a member of the Guild, I can't write for Hollywood; I can write a novel. But what if the novel I'm writing is later turned into a film? Would that nullify the work I did during the strike? It's a gray area, legally.

So, to be safe, I'm going on vacation and not writing anything at all. E-mails? Forget about it. Grocery lists? Not on your life. I'm not even leaving a note for my wife. The plot of this blog might be turned into a blockbuster for all I know, and I could get blacklisted, so this may be the last you hear from me for a while.

I may not be out there picketing, but that short story I meant to finish next week? It'll have to wait.
